Twining - Abreviated Version
Learn the craft of twining - a way of interlacing cloth using a very simple frame loom with a lengthy, interesting history. You will take home a mat and a new appreciation for an historical use of cloth to meet practical needs.
All materials will be provided as well as a twining frame for your class use. This will be a shorter, abbreviated version for those just wanting an overview and a smaller project.

| Instructor Bio: | “Twining - I love this process. It reminds me of when I was a kid playing around with Macrame or when I used to braid my friends’ horses’ tails before a show. It’s great therapy for fingers and wrists and relaxes the mind.” Kim’s background is 18 years teaching 3D/visual effects topics for the film and video game industry. She has education both in computer art, studio art and fiber art. During her time teaching, she also raised draft horses, Navajo Churro sheep and Angora goats and collected a lot of wool, mohair and fabric. Off time was used to delve deeper into fiber arts traditions, namely twining rugs and looks forward to sharing her experience. https://www.countrymile.life/ |
