Shearing season is here and that means beautiful fleece available for you to prepare for all your creative fiber arts projects. We will spend the day together with raw sheep's fleece learning to skirt, sort, and clean. We will share the how's and whys of common tools for processing fleece once clean. Topics we'll discuss further may include; what to look for in selecting a fleece for various projects, local breed availability, and how to best use the fleece you've selected. We will practice using a drop spindle to turn some prepared fleece into yarn.
