Figurative Collage Soft Sculpture – Self Portrait Doll

In this workshop, Kim utilizes her background in teaching character design for the film and game art industry where you will be gently guided through the process. The end result will be a soft sculpture - in the form of a primitive doll.  Basically, a 3d collage that represents you!

The emphasis will be on metaphor utilizing color, texture, little items, symbols, things that have meaning for you that will be attached to the doll. Why -- you might ask in the form of a doll?

1. It’s fun
2. It’s another avenue to encourage creativity and self-expression
3. Have fun with metaphor
4. Your doll can be traditional or it can be abstract depending on how you work with it.
5. As a result, you will have created your first character design
