Summer News

Hello Friends of Fall River Fibers.

I am so happy to be sending out this inaugaral newsletter. We are just finishing up six months in the new location on S. Chicago Street and it is beginning to feel like "home". The inside of the building was completly remodeled for the New Year, a new roof was put on in June and the finishing touches were added to the new mural in early July, featuring our new and improved mascot, L'ewe'cy. There's a whole lot of NEW. If you haven't made it down to see the place, I hope you will plan to do so soon. Take your photo with the fiber friends mural and send it to me or tag us on fb or instagram so we can share our ever-growing Fiber Friend Brigade.

New Classes

We are excited to have new fiber arts classes being offered and several others in the  planning phase. Currently there are crochet, botanic printing and dyeing classes scheduled for the next few months.  Just log onto the FallRiverFibers.com website any time to see up to date choices under "Classes" and then click the title and purchase the class on-line through the secure web-site. Or, if you prefer, stop into the store during business hours and register. Classes and workshops are held in our lovely on-site classroom at 112 S. Chicago St.

See a class, but it doesn't fit your schedule? Let us know and we'll work with you to offer a future session that meets your needs.

Sheep to Shawl

In case you missed it, we sponsored a fantastic event at the June Main Street Arts and Crafts Festival. Volunteers created a large unique shawl / table runner by carding, hand-spinning and weaving fleece from a sheep while visitors watched. We also hosted the shearing of several sheep over the course of the day.

The purpose of these activities is to bring public awareness to the importance sheep and other fiber animals  play in our daily lives. We want to encourage future growers and fiber artists.

The finished piece is now available for one new owner via a raffle. Tickets are available at Fall River Fibers through today, Friday, or at the Fall River County Fair Exhibit Hall in Edgemont through Saturday, August 2, noon. The winning ticket for the one of a kind textile will be drawn around 12:15. Proceeds go towards promoting fiber arts programs and fleece and fiber premiums for fair exhibitors.  We hope you all can join us at the fair and support the future fleece growers through the appreciation and possible purchase of their fleece.

Tickets -

$5 Each or 5 for $20

Have a great summer!
